Awake
Privacy Policy
Effective 25 May 2026
Awake does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It makes no network requests, contains no analytics or tracking, and has no remote servers. Everything happens locally in your browser.
What Awake stores
Only your own settings — heartbeat interval, the per-site prompt and auto-stop rules you configure, and which tabs are currently active. These are saved with the browser's chrome.storage API on your device only and are never sent anywhere.
What Awake never does
- No accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
- No analytics, telemetry, cookies, or fingerprinting.
- No reading or transmitting of page contents, browsing history, or form data.
- No third-party services and no advertising.
Permissions, and why
- Host access (websites you activate): to inject the keep-alive script into the tab you choose and detect "are you still there?" dialogs. Nothing runs until you press Start.
- scripting / tabs: to run that script and read the active tab's URL so the correct site rule is applied and shown.
- alarms / storage: to run the heartbeat and remember your settings locally.
- power: to keep the computer from sleeping while a session is active.
- notifications: to tell you when your job is detected as finished.
